SLEETJE / ONZE fabriek
SLEETJE is a unique project made from the largest Christmas tree of Rotterdam. The sturdy sledge is crafted from the wood of the tree that stood merily in front of the city hall and was designed and made in Rotterdam. SLEETJE is the first project for ONZE fabriek, Blooey’s concept of a social guild for circulair design.
Sustainability
Christmas trees are normally shredded or burned after the holiday season. This time together with ONZE partner Buurman we turned this local hero into a wonderful new product with great storytelling power about circularity and re-use.
Society
Handmade in Rotterdam by sheltered workshop BouwAkademie where people who find it difficult to get a regular job are coached and trained to become craftsmen.

ONZE fabriek (‘OUR factory’) is a collective concept founded by Blooey’s Remko Verhaagen to form a social guild for circular design.
Rotterdam Circulair
In 2030, circular will be the benchmark. Rotterdam will become a "living laboratory" in which we experiment, pioneer and guarantee success. Rotterdam Circulair positions the city and the port as a circular hotspot.
Buurman
Buurman is a workshop and DIY shop for reused materials. What was once waste gets a second life as circular resources for design. Buurman also offers ‘Stadshout’ - local wood from Rotterdam. In this way they contribute to a sustainable world.

BouwAkademie is a sheltered workshop where people who find it difficult to get a regular job are coached and trained to become craftsmen.
