Good Hotel Amsterdam / Rooms
Premium hospitality with a cause. Good Hotel Amsterdam is a floating social pop-up hotel moored on the IJ. It will stay there for one year while training unemployed Amsterdammers to find a job in hospitality industry, before moving to its permanent location in Rio de Janeiro just in time for the Olympics next summer. Good Hotel Amsterdam, which was totally re-purposed from a former detention center into a beautiful 144 room hotel, is the first of many projects, including hotels in Brazil and Guatemala, that Remko and his team are working on for the Good Hospitality Group (GHG).

Twin room / Pure is premium to us. We didn’t design golden taps or use marble tabletops to create a premium look and feel. We found luxury in simplicity and originality.
DeLuxe bed / This wall-to-wall layout is inspired by a traditional Dutch 'bedstee'.
DeLuxe room / Sleeps two in a comfortable wall-to-wall king size bed and offers stunning views over the water.
Double bed / Pure and simple with two iconic swing-arm lamps.
Double room / Every room has a specific guest in mind. This central double bed layout is designed for young creative couples.
Local art / We designed little 'bread crumbs' to show that this hotel will me moving to Rio de Janeiro next year. All rooms feature artwork from Brazilian street artists photographed by Remko when he was in Rio for GHG.
Wooden wall hangers / We mixed custom-made design with items sourced from HEMA and IKEA.
Desk / Integrated desk with iconic swing-arm lamp.
Detail / All rooms feature a wooden headboard with a hidden charger for your smart phone.
Inspiration cabinet / We put a lot of effort in designing the best cabinet for our guests. The open frame keeps the room spacious while providing sufficient storage space and the integrated 'bowl' helps you to never loose your keys again.
Doors / The artwork secretly shows housekeeping which room type it is and the rooms numbers are custom-made from stainless steel. One of our favorite details are the laser etched oak door hangers.
Corridors / The corridors are black to create a quite atmosphere with gallery-like splashes of art. When you enter the transition from dark to light makes the small rooms feel more spacious.
